Reversing a 991.1

There has been much written about the uneven reversing you get particularly with a degree of lock. However, I get uneven reversing in a straight line! Not so much with the bumpiness already mentioned but more with a hesitation to move (slight incline out of my garage) then suddenly shoots away as I apply more power (PDK). Also there is on occasion a clunk from the gearbox during reversing in straight line. Does anyone else suffer from this or should it be investigated. Car drives perfectly otherwise.

Have the engine/transmission mounts checked out. See if there any outstanding software updates.
It's normal for a slight PDK delay from cold.

I find when manoeuvering in a tight spot I press the sport button which then raises the engine idle slightly allowing the manoeuvre be carried out just using the brakes for control.

The jerkiness is caused by the clutch disengaging and then not engaging again until more revs are applied which in a 911 can be exciting in a tight spot.

Hopefully this makes sense, it works for me reversing out of a narrow garage with a wide bodied 911.

Dont forget to disengage sport before driving off as it will keep the oil too cool and cause a slower warm up.

Ian
