REVERSING CAMERA FOR BOXSTER 718

I'm looking to buy a pre-owned (2020-2022, maybe even late 2019), GTS 718 2.5 or preferably a 4.0 and one of the specs I really want is a reversing camera. It seems not all versions had/have the option of a camera, just sensors. Do Porsche offer a retro-fitting option or if I go to an outside supplier would the vehicle warranty be invalidated.

I had a similar problem when buying my latest 981. I just waited until I found one with the reversing camera and all the other options I wanted. Quite rare on 981, possibly less so on 718. You can definitely get after-market cameras but if you ask an OPC or read the Porsche used warranty they will tell you it will invalidate the warranty. As far as I can see adding a camera isn't listed as a Tequiment add-on for 718 so you'll have to ask an OPC. In my experience OPCs will do things like that as one of your conditions of buying a car from them if in effect they are fitting a Porsche option to a car that doesn't have it. May depend on the OPC though.

I looked at this and having a Porsche camera retrofitted is possible but very costly.

Best have an after-market set up activated by reversing lights and capable of being disconnected for warranty purposes.

Agree with Ralph. Anything not Porsche that is hard wired in will void the super strict Porsche warranty.
