Another year almost gone by, again with loads of fun with the forum regulars. We had great trips to the Nürburgring Eifelrennen with proper Nordschleife racing and to Goodwood for the incredible Revival. Another trip is yet to come in 2015. Good to see some faces (new and old) here and there like Rick in Essen at the Techno Classica.

2014 saw exploding prices for 964 RSs/Cups - driving them is as cool as it used to be, big six digit figures or not.

Thanks Des, Rich and Martin for organizing things, thanks Mel for running the 964 RS Forum this way.

Regards,

Hacki

P.S.: The Continent is isolated, but proud of being part of the game.

Hi Hacki , good to hear that you enjoyed your year !

My review of 2014 would be a bit boring so I need to plan 2015 to be better . Have made a bad start by having a 50th wedding anniversary clashing with an intended Spa trip in July.....unfortunately its my wedding anniversary so cannot duck out of it [:D]

I did get to Goodwood Revival like you and a few others , pity did not see you or Thomas 'Mr RS ' Schmitz there . Did see a Messerschmitt KR there which reminded me of how you ( I ) can be both slow and dangerous in a car.....[;)]

I did spin twice on a wet circuit in a 964 and travel backwards at speed through a field without hitting anything.

Highlight of 2014 was probably being on circuit with 964s and the odd 964RS lightweight / cup / clubsport . More times than not it was Kevin tracking the RS . Hopefully there will continue to be owners who use these cars as intended .

Must try harder John.....

Had a fantastic 14 with the RS. Taking in Oulton RS day , Spa and Brands Festival and track day. LeMans in the Cayenne. 15 should be good with Rennsport at the end of the year. As for the RS I have to sdmit i'm seriously considering selling, with values and excess going up to levels i can't ignore. Possibly time for something else.

HAGI Classic Porsche Index dropped by 8.5% in November . Could be a sign that market has topped out . Will make 2015 'value' threads interesting.....maybe trader Des will have to step in with quantitative easing [;)]

Good! Can't wait for the day when the market crashes and I can sell everything and buy a 935 and a 917. [;)]

Fun indeed Hacki!! Good to catch up at Goodwood. I am probably gonna park the bus there for the whole three days next year... barely one day wasn't nearly enough!
Shite year for me for sprints n trackdays with that bl**dy reoccuring misfire which Paul Mc has hopefully cured -seemed alright at Donny anyways!

Phil -you wish!!![:D]

Any details on the construction of the "Hagi P" index?

It may well be down 8.5% in Nov ? That may not tell the whole story.

That could be people cashing in by selling their 2.7RS to buy the relatively undervalued 964RS.....doesn't necessarily mean 64RS prices are actually falling?

Personally I think it is hard to gauge at this time of the year, you need to motivated buyers and sellers. With the weather there are usually fewer transactions anyway. It all feels a little flat!

We will have a better idea nearer the spring or post Essen, cheap oil, low rates on hold with some economic growth somewhere, should see equities and property at reasonable levels and wouldn't expect to see aircooled RS prices fall too far from current levels?

On the other hand............ [;)]

I'm sure Hacki didn't intend this to be yet another values thread but I guess the temptation is always too great to resist! [:D]

It's been a good year! Hacki, great to see you on your side of the continent at the 'Ring earlier this year. Hope to see you again somewhere (wherever it may be) in 2015!

Guten Rutsch!

Well I for one would be sorry to see you moving on, Laurence. We've all probably considered selling, some of us have resisted. Good luck whatever you do.

I've loved using mine this year as much as ever (RS Day, Spa and the surprisingly good Blyton plus the usual regular road use) and I plan to continue using it again next year. I try not to dwell on the value but when I do consider it I conclude that I daren't part with it while ever the prices continue to climb.

Was good to see you too Hacki, and a long way and time from Oschersleben in about 2009 I'd guess when we last met???
Hoping to have the restoration finished on my RS 3.8 sometime in the New Year, been a long process, but I couldn't live with that colour change paint any more!
Have a good Xmas one and all and here's to strong prices in 2015 ;-)
Rick

Well, I'm going to try to get out more next year.

By the time I get to Xmas (yes still one more trip to make) I'll have worked abroad 23 weeks in 2014.

And leaving behind the things I enjoy has left me struggling to appreciate the little time I have had.

So, big memo to self --- yes please to a fabulous 2015.

If you can cope with a Cayman !!

Don't forget to book Spa Chris!

2014 a very different year, I've become and outsider and worse than Hacki!!! that said, i did make the spa trip, which was terrific fun, although the RS continued to require some fettling to keep it right.

Despite prices, I've never even considered selling. And I hope to continue to use the car as inteneded, although it will spend more time in storage than not. My motorsport will be an odd mix next year, but starts with ice driving 911s in Jan and some time spent in a clio cup. Needs must and all that.

Need to capture something a little more 911 like in the Arabian states! :)

Nice to keep in touch with this group, and hope a minty outing can be accommodated still next year.
