Revs on over-run

I am in the process of acquiring a 993C4S to replace my 964C4. On the test drive, I noticed that the revs took longer to fall when lifting off and that engine braking was a bit less than I am used to. I have to say that on the last "modern" car I drove - a Passat - this drove me up the wall. Is this a common feature of these cars?
 
Thanks Maurice. I guess its just one of things and it certainly didn't happen all the time. And the air-con was on too...


 
Definately gives a different feel with the air con on. Particularly in town when coming to a junction. Feels like you need to take your foot off the accelerator when in fact you already have.
