Rewiring a headunit

The work continues and today I have re-done the butchered wiring behind the headunit. I have a question for some of you but here's what I was starting with.

Half way through I had tidied up the power wiring. As you can see there's negative, switched (red/yellow) and then two leads that go to +12v. Not sure why there are two? You can also see two sets of leads just soldered together. This is how they were before, all I have done is put them in heat shrink and junk the connector block. Anybody know what these are for? Could it be display dimming? And what about that brown lead at the bottom? It wasn't wired up before and I didn't have a multimeter with me to check whether it was just another +12v source.

The finished wiring, much tidier and think of all the weight I have saved....[;)]

And finally how it all looks now. If anybody has a better condition central locking switch going spare do let me know. Cheers for looking.
