Given that there are only 50 odd of these about , its hard to price the market. What does the team think about

fair price for a 50k mile car
ditto for 100k mile car
ditto for 150k mile car

assume all are bodily good and unmodified [:D]

I am a potential buyer , so not entirely academic [;)]

Now you're getting greedy .......... i'm not jealous at all !!

I saw one recently at around £50k with what I thought was sensible miles but I can't remember the details. Good luck and I look forward to seeing it.

Clubsport market very difficult at the moment as there dont appear to be any for sale.
Mine sold last year without going to the open market and was fully sorted both mechanically and cosmetically with 7 owners and just over 100k miles if my memory serves me right for £30k.
I know of another club race car which had 100k plus miles and a hard but enjoyed life which sold for £25k.
50k miles cars are getting few and far between and i would imagine the premium you will pay for one of these will be £50k - £60k plus and you need consider what you are going to use it for.

The clubsport in my oppinion is a very special car and I think you can make direct links with the much collected 73Rs which as we know have gone up to mad values. I would buy mine back tommorow from its current owner if the opportunity arose and I should have kept it.

Good luck with your search and I would contact the register secretary if you are still interested in buying one.

Cheers

Alan

Hi Yoda , is your car getting ready now ?

GRRC have a classic trackday Monday 6 June and the 911E is entered for it . Hope its dry , Avons fitted.

RHD 3.2 clubsport is a UK collectors car I guess , so being a contrarian I thought I'd get one and track it...... was that not the purpose of it ?

Just inspected a real deal 2.7RS lightweight , 260k worth, was not tempted [;)]

Better cars for the money with greater upside (if that's what you want) elsewhere John.

3.2 clubsports drab and overrated imho mate[:D]

Oh and well overpriced if 50k!!![;)]

Bit of a limited edition gen 2. 3,2 .... few in Europe look at LHD market ..... lovely cars though ... but never a RS IMHO[8|]

Oldtimer, I had a 3.2 CS for 3 years and did around 20+ track days in it.

In standard form they are a great road/track car. As a pure track car your 964Rs is better. In mixed company we did find the 3.2CS was quicker around the ring, mainly due to it's compliance compared to the 64.......Yes, Walter Rohrl would have been quicker etc.......[:D]

After mastering the CS on faster tracks, the first area for improvement would have to be the brakes...... Then if you start modifying a collectible car? You may as well begin with a 3.2 Carrera Sport?

Driving the 2 cars back to back, there is surprisingly quite a difference, but would suggest 3.2CS is a great A/B road car with enough power to have fun.

One of the best things about them is that with the lack of electrical fripperies fitted. there is less to go wrong.

Definite tiered market on pricing, with low mileage collector cars at a premium, soon to be eroded as the track use and mileage stack up......which may not prove to be such an investment, after all?

So reading this from such knowing Talent and ex-owner, the comprimise would be a 3.2 Sport with a few mods and bigger breaks ....

Thing is Des, internet banter aside....

On paper they may not appear to be that special or substantially different to a Carrera Sport, so many potential buyers may well avoid them, but owners and ex owners tend to agree what a special car they are. Definitely one of the best Porsches I have ever owned.

The thing was, when new, they were a few £k cheaper than a Carrera sport, nobody wanted a car without leccy windows or sunroof in the late '80's.
From the late '90's to around 2003, they were usually £4-5k more than the equivalent 3.2 Sport, often in better condition as the owners mostly cherished them...any more price differential than that and they would not sell.

Cool, can see why round the ring it's better than a 64RS .... I wonder if anyone has actually put softer springs dampers on their 64RS for ring action ....

With a 964RS, I think the smart money and possibly the best £££ you can spend is to fit the 993RS front struts. It transforms the car for use on the road.....oh hang on, isn't that your line? [:D]
