RHD 356

All,

My first post on this sub-forum.

I'm considering importing a RHD 356. It looks like the car may originally have been exported from the UK.

Does anyone know how I can check that it wasn't stolen and then exported. The DVLA and Met police haven't been very helpful.

Thank you

Garfield

Suggest you contact FH the 356 Emperor and his Tech guy Jeff - both of who's details are in the Porsche File.

Place this post on DDK as far more likely to get help on the DDK FORUM.

If it is the car on ebay in usa then its fine as the seller is well known.

I suggest that you contact Mike Smith at PR Services on 01277 630099 or look him up on www.prs.com
He is compiling a book on all of the RHD 356's so may have the information you seek. Otherwise try Porsche GB to get a certificate of authenticity from customer.assistance@porsche.co.uk give them the chassis number and they will prepare a sheet with the when new details. I am not sure if they can tell if it is stolen or not but if you buy it drive it like it has been stolen and get some good fun from it, good luck.

The DVLA also has a vehicle check service

Thank you for all your help. Mike Smith at PRS Services was very helpful.

Now, who would you recommend to restore it ? I'm probably going to do bits and pieces myself. Mike comes highly recommended as does Roger Bray. Does anyone have any (private) views.

My private email is garfieldjsmith@hotmail.com.

Thanks
