I would nominate Rich now .... with the season approaching and Mel's workload increasing now is an ideal time to get a New Register Assistant ... [:)] Think he would make an ideal Reg Assist....[:)]

I fully realise that it's none of my business, but I'd second that suggestion. Rich is hugely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the RS product and participates in many of the 964 and RS forums around the world. A big thumbs up!!

Have to agree, what RichC doesn't know about the 64RS on road, track and the concours circuit isn't worth knowing. [:)]

Plus his car has a very low chassis number which makes it all the more valuable!! [:D

Anoraks at the ready!!

Martin

Surely the value is in the former "celebrity" owner? [:D]

A good point Melv.

The strength of the Forum is the number of people who are prepared to offer information and assistance according to their skills and experience.

Martin, Ollie, Rich and others --- on a very inclusive basis.

What will we do when we have two pages of very active topics ???

So, it's Valentine's Day and I've just finished sifting through the many hundreds of cards and gifts from distant admirers which the postman kindly delivered this morning. It's hard work but I've managed to grow used to it after all these years. [;)]

I put the kettle on, made a nice cuppa and have settled down in front of the laptop to catch up on the fascinating discussions about shell numbers, rollcage stickers and who is wearing which colour at Spa this year (apparently orange is the new black). [8|]

I click onto the forum...

...only to discover more bloody messages of love, adoration and affection. The difference being this time they're from a bunch of hairy blokes who have an unhealthy liking for cars with S&M gear pre-installed at the factory!

Thank you for all your kind messages of support, but I agree with Melv. When he thinks it's time to employ a new Untergruppenfuhrer he will.

Until that time, I think we should all have a long cold shower, take a slug of bromide and do our best to think about something other than which bloke makes you feel all funny 'down there'. [:D]

Er, did I ask for an assistant?? [&:]

A few Porsche posts back it was mentioned in your column as a header can't find copy anyway .... just thought with the massive volume of enthusiasm and your track schedule and the start of a new season with all those displays and garage visits to do ... made a little sense as a mere member ..... siad my bit now ... off to stir another pot now ... what can I serve with a 1976 Amarone ..[;)]

Hmmm, 1976 was a very good vintage so don't waste it. It's a wine with it's own character, I'd go for a simple but flavoursome Italian casserole of game, with no over-powering amounts of garlic or sun-dried tomatoes, for instance, to detract. It's rustic, and needs proper country food with great ingredients to complement it, not anything delicate and bland nor too spicy.

If you don't want to waste half the bottle in your cooking use a regular Valpolicella.

What time's dinner? [;)]

8.00 start just one Aussie Guest ... do you think she would prefer a nv Koonunga Hill instead ....?

Oh doing a "Lasagna Rustica" with wild mushrooms and a little grated Croatian White Truffle ....

An Amarone doesn´t need no food.... have it tomorrow night at the fire place, just you and the Amarone!

Tonight, if she´s worth it, have a Brunello di Montalcino, a great wine that can be served with a perfect steak that melts in your mouth.

P.S. ****ging after a bottle of Amarone is difficult anyway, at least it takes a lot of time.

Shouldn't it take a long time? I've been doing it wrong all these years as it takes me hours. [&o]
