Ride height on turbo

Looking underneath the front of my 89 turbo,i see that the struts are ajustable. It looks as if the car can be wound down quite a bit more. How low can you go on the front before you have any problems?
Thanks,
Andrew.

There will be plenty of info if you search around. One of the main consequences of lowering the car too much is the front ball joints binding and deforming or even cracking at high speed resulting in....bad things. Also when you adjust the fronts you will or should do the back which will probably involve re-indexing the torsion bars which is time consuming. Having said that I have done mine recently and it looks way better.

As well as the ball joint issue you also don't want to place the crossmember end of the wishbone below the hub end as it is designed to be the other way around and the geometry change induced apparently upsets things like bump-steer if you lower too much. You can get an extended ball joint for that reason (it reinstates the correct wishbone angle on a lowered car)

Depending where you are starting from you can take a fair bit out of it before you get into problems. Possibly 30mm or so. You might even have enough adjustment on the rear just through the adjusting plates to lower it to match. The back is supposed to be slightly higher than the front on a 944 anyway to get the best handling.
