Right if you have a Sat Nav do you ever get this !

Right this has bugged me a bit now, you know how some little things just can []

I recently bought a sat nav because
A) I cost me peanuts and they can come in handy love them or not
B) My Omnia had it built in but it has broken !
C) Sometimes I jst cant give a **** to get a map out whilst driving

However I put it on to go to Promax baring in mind the Milton Keynes roundabouts and the fact its tucked away a bit and found that it refuses to go a proper route. I have tried fastest route , shortest route , highways route you name it & I have change the setting preference.
Basicaly it refuses the hop on the M1 for 1 junction to cross it which is essential and cuts half an hour off the journey at least or more like an hour by avoiding Bedford. Before you say , "Ah but its a cheap satnav" , I have tried it on lots of other journeys by putting the post codes in from my garden and it works perfctly well to any destination I pick from work places to dog show venues up and down the U.K ( and I know a few dog show venues) but it hates one journey , Home to Promax !

So if you live East of Milton Keynes and East of the M1 I would love to know if your Sat Nav shows you a sensible route or if you also sends you on a very long and scenic tour of Bedford along the way. I wouldnt mind but come on a scenic tour of Bedford [:D]

I had this problem a long time ago - I had the settings as mentioned above - 'avoid motorways'!

I think there are just some addresses that fool the system. My tom-tom can't find Daytona Karting in MK by it's postcode. It gets near, then takes me on the A5, up one junction where it tells you to turn around and go back, and then on an endless loop.

Not exactly sure where you are heading from Mas, but I use the A421 "Bedford Southern Bypass" which is a new road and doesn't actually show up on my Satnav so you maybe having the same problem. Basically it links the A1 with the M1 and for the most part is fast dual carriageway (avoiding Bedford as the name suggests) though it gets a bit slow at present as it nears the M1 due to extensive roadworks going on. It also has the advantage of heading into MK and coming out the other side via many roundabouts heading towards Buckingham and right past Promax (more or less).

I'm sure you know where I live Jon , I thought I was less forgettable than that [:D]

I come from Stanstead way accross from Baldock towards the M1 etc etc etc as the bloke from Siam used to say.

This is what Google Maps sends me on ( unlike the sat nav) and the way I went last time via my omnia phone with Googlemaps , lord I wish it hadn't gone puff!
