Hi Tim

Had the chance to be taken around the ring in a Manthey GT3RS on slicks with a team driver! I can still feel the fear and smell the Kelvins! There are no words to describe it![;)][:D]

The trip I did was with RMA who have exclusive use of the circuit. RMA are members of one of the track day organiser associations that my insurance company (A. Manning) requires membership of to cover me on track days. It's my understanding that I'm covered on these types of days at the Ring, but not on public days.

I'd check that.... my insurance covers me for RMA days as well EXCEPT at the ring...

Nice footage Tim, very well pedalled in true 964RS Style with that little wrestling of the wheel......[:D]

7' 58" flash bu66er....[;)]

Must be up to around 50 laps there now. I just love the place[:D], but I'm still very much a Ring virgin. Have to admit I've never checked specifically whether I'm covered insurance wise there on RMA days, but I've not read anything saying I'm specifically excluded from the Ring. Planning to head out again with RMA in November and may take the SC instead next time - although I buzzed the engine at Castle Combe yesterday so felling a little sorry for myself.[:(]

Tim,
Good to meet you yesterday at Combe, very decent of John P to provide the sausage butties too ;-)
Any news on the engine yet?
Cheers,
Kevin.

Kevin

Good to meet you too. Weren't those sausage butties good!

No news on the engine yet but keeping everything crossed.

Hope you're feeling OK after your combine harvester escapade!

Tim,
Thanks, I was bloody lucky and a lesson I won't forget in a hurry.

Car smells like burnt bread, need to get the exhaust cover and undertrays off to get rid of last remnants of grass and whatever the crop was.

Given my reticence on getting back to flat out in fourth on that bend I am thinking if changing my name to "Windy Miller".

Thanks for the support and look forward to seeing the "black hunter" in action,
Cheers,
Kevin.

Surprised hanging out with Johnny Probert and his mates....[&:]

Suspension is standard, but chassis has been corner weighted and is fitted with Matter roll cage. Brakes are Big Red Turbo S with 330mm discs. Engine was converted to 3.8 by SHK in Germany. It has RS01 cams, race valves and seats, Supercup barrels and pistons, special exhaust rockers to increase lift, large throttle body, large air intake and race headers. A couple of years ago it was kicking out around 315bhp but I suspect it's dropped a little since then. Felt fantastic to drive at the Ring, particularly with Dunlop DZ02G soft compound tyres.

Thanks Tim. I thought you were going quicker than me around there and I hoped that RS was modified. I am tempted to go back to standard RS suspension from my corner weighted H&R dual spring setup. Also moving to 18" Mags so will ned to get the setup anyway.

Standard RS suspension on the Ring probbaly the boy but on smooth Tarmac? Oh and Charles FULL MATTER CAGE makes a massive difference...no flex and so planted[:D]
