And he might have to do it all over again. He used 999 113 490 41 which is the 3rd generation seal. The 4th generation seal, 997 101 212 00, has just been released.

I am dong fine. Been quiet for a while as I started my new job down in Cambridge and have been off the air as I don;t have Internet access at my digs down here .....only at work....and not supposed to be using it for pesonal use either .....shhhh , nudge, nudge
My 996 is just coming up to 50,000 miles now. Still on its 7th RMS. The drip seems to have diminished to one small drip per month. Nevertheless, it will be going in to have the 8th done soon. This time I have been promised by my independent that it will be cured for life! Well we will see
Apart from that things have been on the up for me recently. Just boght my wife a new Alfa 147. Nice motor.

The green plastic ring is used to slide the seal over the shaft so it does not get nicked. Then the green plastic thing it is removed.
Make of that what you want, in my best Brit-speak.
Since you are now famous, I thought of buying a seal and getting your autograph.
2 local guys will have this seal go in.
Stay tuned.....
