RMS Goodwill

All,
the old chesnut, MY03, May 03 registration "S" 17,600 mls and the dreaded RMS puddle has appeared.
The local OPC (Chiswick) has confirmed seals gone and are applying to Porsche for goodwill. Any feedback on what this is liable to be? Is there a standard or do we all get screwed?

This in addition to the rusty discs which have damaged the pads and need replacement (£1275) and the Aircon which needs recharging (£150) - a usable sports car......back to a TT I think!!
Thanks in advance
Bill

Go to northways in Reading for the brakes and air con if you can't do them yourself. Otherwise EuroCar Parts or similar will supply you OE brake parts, or you could just go to OPC parts counter, and insist on the 10% PCGB discount (they might even match ECP if you ask)

Ditto! Shouldn't some hard braking at high speeds sort the rusty discs and pads out?

They came up with the same re the discs last year after I reported slight judder under braking and said that they could not be skimmed, I then took the car to Charles Ivey who skimmed the lot for £200, judder disappeared. No problems until this service when mentioned again. Apparently the problem was caused by me washing the car and then putting it straight into the garage without driving it to dry the discs off. I have never had this before - seems like a design fault in the discs. However since last year I have religously taken the car out for a run after washing but perhaps the damage had been done.....
I'll do the work myself, cant see that it'd be too difficult, just a lack of tools which can be provided by a work colleague. Maintained my own rally cars for 16 years so I'd better get my lazy butt into gear on this one.
Is there much of a difference between the genuine Porsche items and copies such as Sebro from ECP?

Result on the RMS, its all covered under goodwill apparently.....Genuine porsche brake bits from ECP £650 inc vat - makes me think Chiswick are taking the mick with their West London clientele.....
