Well my Boxster has just gone into OPC Nottingham with RMS, 6 hours of work, thank goodness I have the warranty!!!!

How many people has this happenned to in the Boxster world? I have heard of a few 996's, but not Boxsters.

It is definately covered under my warranty as this is something I checked out before purchase.

Phil, this subject has caused some pretty major upsets on here - to the point where Nic actually sent out a poll to work out who's suffered with RMS on here.

I don't think I ever saw the results but a lot of people have had the very same problem.

Do a quick search of RMS - personally my old boxster had two RMS's go. The new one seems fine so far (touch wood).

Guys,

percentage seems pretty much the same for Boxsters and 996s - that is, 25% of the 50% of the people who replied, so somewhere between 12 and 25% of the total.

I did the Boxster survey first, have since done a 996 and follow up, am planning a follow up Boxster survey. Just looking for some spare time to do this.

Some cars have had several RMS replaced, dont ask about Berneys record number though.

Crikey Nic that's complicated. [:(] Do you mean 50% of those who actually replied had RMS failure or have I read it wrong.

sorry,

no, 50% replied.

of these, 25% had experienced a failure.

so the true result lies between half of the 25% and the whole of it. You cant say more than this.
