RMS, s'thing else or nothing!

Firstly please excuse my technical ignorance [&o]
taking my car out today (hooray first day this year with top down; a balmy 17.5 degrees)
I noticed a small patch of what looks like almost dry oil covering an area of about 6" by 6" on the floor.
the location of this small area was almost exactly midway between the 2 rear wheels, under two bolts which are flanked by what looks like two "flaps" the bottom of which point gently towards the front of the car.
until today I hadn't used the car for a week or so, which might explain the old look to the oil?
any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated - I'll be having a look tomorrow to see if there is any change
TIA
Andy

Best thing to do is get it up in the air or your butt down a pit so that you can get a good look. Oil leaks are a bit like a leaking flat roof - the hole could be anywhere.

JCB..

And if JCB's solutions are not acceptable I am sure your friendly OPC will 'pop it in the air' and provide a definitive answer and all for free! (they did for me - OPC Sutton Coldfield very helpful people)

Hi,
Have you got air conditioning?
Did you have it on?
If so then the "leak" might have been the condensation that is ejected by the a/c under the car as a normal function of its working.

George Flower.

thanks for the good point George
further inspection has revealed no leaks.....phew[:)]
all this talk about RMS failure has made me ultra wary[&:]
