Hi All,
Anyone be interested in meeting up for a day out here?
http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/operations-and-support/establishments/naval-bases-and-air-stations/rnas-culdrose/rnas-culdrose-air-day-2009/

Have spoken to Alex and he suggested putting it on the forum and will bring it up at the next regional meeting. Thought it might give the Cornish brethren a chance to meet up without driving to the other side of Devon!
Looks like a pretty impressive flying program

If anyone is interested in making a day out of it (it is mid-week unfortunately) then PM or e mail me and we can sort out where to meet up.
Cheers
Alan

Morning Cap'n!

I could be up for that, subject to the neccessary pass out being issued. I've e-mailed a hillclimbing friend who's stationed at Culdrose, and is involved with the RN motor club, to see if we can get a dedicated parking area.

Historically it's usually the only day in July with a 150ft cloud base........[8|]

Cheers!

Or a 50kt x-wind! Or both! Dedicated parking sounds cool. Next meeting is 10th June so can see how much interest there is from non-forum users.

Based on the current response - 2! Think we will have to wait until after the next meeting to have a better idea but I'd be surprised if it's more than 12-14 and more likely single figures. Will talk to Simon about it on Saturday and try to get him to send out an e-mail to members.

Having now stuck my head above the parapet, it looks as though I'll be going with the 911 Hillclimb car on display on the RN Motor Sport stand..........[8|]

I'll know more about whether dedicated parking is possible after the week-end.

Cheers!

I've just thought - that will mean having to make pointless conversation face-to-face all day.................................[]

Cheers![8D]

Nothing as yet, but it's not sounding hopeful.................[&:]
I should assume no, and if we manage to get it, it will be a bonus.
My contact is on the training team at Culdrose, so is flat out on that and the Air Day in working hours, and equally flat out trying to rebuild his Mallock hillclimb car after a fairly serious tangle with the greenery, during the non-working hours.[8|]

When (or if!) I hear more I'll let you know.

Cheers!

I'm abroad at present and for some reason can'open the link.

What date is the Air day as I plan to spend some of July in Cornwall in my 968 Cabrio and will go along if the dates co-incide?

Thanks, Nick (r20)

Could be just you and me in the wind and rain then cap'n![&:]
Keeping fingers crossed that the parts for my limited slip diff arrive with Crispin at Oak Tree Garage in time for Wiscombe...........
Looks like being a late Friday night again.

The forecast is supposed to be good for the week-end, and there's a good entry, so fingers crossed!

See you there!

Not quite.....................
Fabulous displays by the Eurofighter Typhoon, the Sea Vixen, and the Jordanian display team. Absolutely beautiful to see a PBY Catalina flying, and more helicopters than you could shake a stick at[8D]

But it did rain until 15.00......................[&:]

Cheers!
