I'm looking to set off from Manchester on the 6th May, on the above road trip, in a 981 3.4S Boxter, and arriving home on the 31st May, so three and a half weeks! Has anyone done a similar route?? It is mainly the Adriatic Coast section that I would like information on, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Albania!! Any advice, suggestions, or general information would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

That's a lot of road !
we are spending same time going to south Italy and back
have a great trip

A quick Google and I would say about 3500 miles round trip? Only 145 miles per day then....Easy! The East side of the Adriatic is stunning - make sure you stop over in Dubrovnik. Haven't driven it but flown into and over that region a lot! The food is dull but the scenery spectacular. Presumably you will get the ferry across to Brindisi? Get over to the west coast of Italy asap, Amalfi, Naples, Rome, Pisa etc on your way up to Monaco. Then the Route Napoleon of course!
If we did a 3.5 week trip I would need to have a Pickford's lorry follow us with clothing support for SWMBO[:D]

Hi. Although it was many years ago, August 1968, I did the very same trip but driving a new AEC fifty one seater coach. The entry to Albania was by pure accident and I and my passengers were quickly escorted back out of the country by gun totting soldiers who looked like they'd not eaten or washed for a month. Great trip though although it took four full weeks. I'd done a trial run a few months earlier just to check out a route but that was done in an E-Type Jaguar. After the trip, taking the coach, I've not returned but now all the roads are far far better as is crossing the various borders! Just do it, the return route is a pleasure.

We are averaging around 200-250 miles a day but having several days where SWMBO can get spa pampering and shopping for a few days in order for me to get the route napoleon and several tasty alpine passes;-)
she wouldn't tolerate 200 miles a day every day????average
sounds a great trip though
