Road trip to France and Switzerland soon: FUEL?

We are off on a 2 week drive through France and Switzerland soon.
My Boxster is a 987 Gen II 2.9 and we will be cruising not red-lining it everywhere.

Not sure about getting (say) Shell V Power 97 ron so I've just put £20 of 95 ron Green fuel in to see how things are.

The handbook says this is ok, but any thoughts for the 2 week trip as 97 may not be easy to find, or am I wrong??

Thanks, Graham.

We've taken our 981 Boxster to Italy and back twice. Never had a problem. You can get 100 octane Shell in Germany. I did put half a tank of green fuel in mine that contained ethanol (by mistake!) It didn't seem to mind. I checked afterward and the Porsche website said it was OK.

Have fun!

We took the 968 to Northern Spain then back through France last year, had very little problem finding 97-98RON E5 or better for the entire trip - although we did find one pump in Northern Spain that was 98RON but had a decent sized E10 sticker on the pump, so I had to look elsewhere.

I am sure you will be ok. Took my 993 on this trip regularly and always found Shell super unleaded but had to avoid E10 in that. Have a 987 Cayman now so E10 is ok but still use Shell Nitro to be safe. Don't run fuel too low and be forced to panic buy. Have a lovely trip.

Currently in south of France and had no problem getting 98 anywhere here or on the way down. All the hypermarkets have it - just look for the Intermarche or Carrefour signs in most towns. They tend to be 10 or more cents less per litre.

Great, thank you.
I have a '73 911 with a 3.2 in it and that will run on orange juice or G&T if asked, amazing stock engine so a bit spoilt by that one.

Cheers,
Graham.

Recognised by Porsche.
The green E10 is fine.
Ran my Boxster 3 years on French holidays. No problems whatsoever.

Have a great break. That continental driving us so much fun!
