Road Trip

All this talk of problems and my own experience recently has made me paranoid about my car, scared that something is going to fall off or wondering if it sounds different to the last time i drove it!

So...i have done what any sane person would do and booked a road trip to the San Bernadino pass and back in four days as part of my stag...its just me and my best man going for a weekend of cars, beer and steak...not necessarily in that order.

We will cover 1,500 miles in four days taking in the "green hell", the new Porsche museum, some autobahns, the alps and the hills of Alsace...departing the end of May...i just can't wait to fall in love with my motor again (haven't really fallen out of love but you know what i mean).

Anyone got any photos of past trips to get me going? Or any tips of what to not miss, do, or forget for the trip?

We might have just the thread for you [;)]

Our trip from last year to many of the places you have mentioned.

With the concerns of reliability, of 14 cars that went with us only one had an issue which was the prone coilpacks after giving them quite a bit of a workout going up the Grimsel pass.[;)]
The car did make it safely to the dealership (under its own power) where the dealership fitted all new coilpacks to the car and never even mentioned payment.
A very good service following an unfortunate situation.

Enjoy the car, as that trip IS exactly what the 997 is about [8D]

Good for you! I had my stag in September '07 - but I'm afraid it wasn't as grand as yours [should] be! It amounted to two nights in London, the first of which was great music in Ain't Nothin' But.... on Kingly Street until about 4am and the second night I ended up sat on the pavement eating an onion bhaji that I'd walked half way up the Edgware Road to get!! It's amazing what you can get from the back of a news agents shop at four in the morning!

Any tips? Just get back to the better half on time and in one piece - or I guarantee there'll be trouble!!

Women are really into these wedding events, you know...?![;)]

Enjoy!
