My Drivers side window makes a Robotic type noise when opening/closing

Today, it died. It make a slight noise when you push up or down, not sure if its jammed? There a common fault with the motors dying or jamming up? Also, how many screws to take the door card out hehe [:)]

I have just done my drivers window which has never worked since puchasing the car. Took about 1 1/2 hr to do, not to complicated just a little fiddly in places, and by the way I'm a complete novice. If its anything like mine then there will be a few screws missing so cant tell you exact figure. Once everything was off I took out the motor at the bottom which has two screws, one easy to remove and the other not, took the motor apart and wd-40 it. Used the wd on the joints in the glass lifter and just sprayed as much as possible ( probably not the way to do it ). Put it all back together and to my amazement it now works and is pretty fast to boot.
So have a go, as it wont finish up any worse then it is already!!!!!

How do you get the motor out? I can see 2 bolts, but what about all the stuff that connects to the motor, theres no where to put my hands in!

BTW the passenger one works fine, so that rules out the fuse. We have had to days of heavy rain, and when i passed a Jeep toeing a Caravan, unlucky but he it a massive puddle on the A Road which soaked the car so bad i couldnt see for 6 seconds (Quite scary actualy). Also with the motor making a strange noise, im just going to take it the motor is the problem.

Just got to get it out :)

From memory there is about six screws to undo, onece there all undone the motor and glass will drop down ,slide the glass off the 2 pegs and the motor will come out of the hole at the bottom of the door (about where the door pocket would be) as said above its usually the scissor part which lifts the window that siezes up,shame you didnt post this up sooner as ive just sold one !!
