Funny enough, I spoke to a technician at a garage the other day, asking about settimgs.....I suggested they have the right side front/ back set fully stiff and the left side as soft as poss.....hopefully this should help a certain car steer to the right into Paddock away from the sandtrap []

surely depends on what kind of circuit? Brands much bumpier than the likes of Silverstone...
Thanks Paul for all your help, must have been tired with me on the phone to you (and Melv) every ten minutes. The Guy setting up my car was impressed with my Technical Crew whilst passing the phone to him every few minutes...."are you a Pro Racer and boy do your technical Guys know their stuff".anyway rear roll bar on First setting and front on Middle, what difference it will make with my lack of talent don't know, but with Herr Ranceoff driving the car on Monday it should....errrrr[]

I run full hard front, full soft rear on the Cup Car, as, according to a Christophorus article I have, they ran in the '90/'91 Carrera Cup on 17"s. There is more play with 18's, apparently........Tony Dron drove it last year at Goodwood and he would have stiffened the rear up one notch (as Phil and Charles) to make it slightly more tail happy -just his style he said!!
Maybe it's time for a change!!![]

Hi Des and Melv,
I used to run my Cup Car also with full soft rear and full hard front, but that was a little bit too much understeer. But it gave a safe feelinng in long fast and sweeping curves.
So I softened the front by one notch, the result is a car which understeers slightly in slow corners and is 100% neutral in fast ones. When it starts to go away, all wheels go at the same time.
I tried to soften the front by one more notch, for my taste that was too much so I went back to the second notch (hard) front and a full soft rear. (Still my favourite setup)
Herr Röhrl drove the car then on Nürburgring GP track with me in the passenger´s seat and he agreed with this set up. Quote: "Ich würde an den Stabis nichts ändern!" (I wouldn´t change the ARB setup.) BTW: Toe in is 0 degree, important to check that!
Franz Konrad from Konrad Motorsport (you´ll know of him) told me that every car has to be set up individually, not only due to the drivers´s taste but also because of the fact that these cars were more or less handmade. So none is like the other.
Recommendations and experiences with other cars can only give directions, the test on the track will show.

BTW, full hard front and medium rear is for Spa. I would probably adjust differently for another track. I have tried all sorts of combination at Spa and found this to be the best, particulalry where it counts (i.e. Eau-Rouge-Raidillon, Pouhon and Blanchimont), where the car will be only slightly understeery.
Harder rear set up makes it hairy at Eau-Rouge-Raidillon. Softer rear give more grip, but less feel for limit (at least for me), leading to "moments" (had a 360 spin on top of said curve with soft rear set up).
