well as any of you who have read the 944 - track use thread will know I'm preparing a 944 S2 for the track. sorted out seats, and stripping it down and the braided lines came today etc! the only place I'm having trouble with is a roll cage!! just can't seem to find one for under around £650 + vat + fitting. tried EMC in b'ham and motoscope in n'allerton not sure where else to look, going to give demontweeks a call about custom made ones I think. anyu other places to try?!
cheers

Can't remember if I've suggested it to you before, but have a chat with Simon (Simon Davidson is his forum name) at http://www.essentialstyling.co.uk/ as he's just had a rather nice cage fitted to his car. I don't know who did it or how much but I'm sure he'll give you the full details.
Best regards,
Peter

I got my rear cage from the roll centre as well but they only make and supply them to fit a 944 WITHOUT a sunroof so they sold it to me as a kit (in pieces) i was also fitting mine to an S2 so when it arrived i had to cut an inch or so from the bottom parts of the hoop and the stays, i then had it all welded together, the job was loads of hassle and i wouldn't buy one as a kit again but it was slightly cheaper and fitting was easy, i think i paid around 500 all in but still had to pay for the paint to cover it, welding was free as a friend done it for me...i did get a price from porsche shop which was around the 600 mark all in, but i found where ever i went the build time was around 5 to 6 weeks.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Hope this helps.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Steve.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Try Fabricage in Harston, nr Cambridge - heard lots of very good things about them, including from my brother who bought a full cage for his Nissan 200sx

emailed simon at ess, demontweeks want £743 for a sparco cage, roll centre do full cages for £339+vat+deliv so that seems to be pretty good, just need to find somewhere to have it fitted unless it's not too hard to do yourself. can't find anything on fabricage??
cheers [:)]

If its coming built and you have a welder(and can weld) then have a go your self, even if its a bolt in there will still need to be some welding done, other than welding in bolting points i only had to drill holes in the rear inner wheel arches to bolt down the rear stays, easy job realy and of you cant do it your self im sure most back street porsche garages would be pleased to pull your car apart !(in a nice way!).
