I'm thinking about replacing the Heigo Aluminium half-cage (bolt-in) with a Matter Steel cage (bolt-in).

How likely is it that the Matter cage will bolt to the same mounting points as the Heigo?

I think I know someone who will buy your old cage actually Rich. Keep me posted please bud.

I thought that Matter no longer exist , Heigo do , so presumably this is a second hand Matter cage , non sunroof. The main consideration is to have a specialist fit it , because its very unlikely that the 2 different makes will have the same mounting points , also there is always a bit of tailoring needed as no two body shells are precisely the same dimensionally .
NB alloy cages are for show , not pukka ..... the real deal is steel ...in case you need to use it in anger.

However its really not a problem for garage queens [;)]

Rich,
Should be dead easy, the Matter bolt in cages just attach to the seatbelt mounting points at the bottom of the B pillar and the rear seat wells (well mine does anyway !) and most of the Heigo cages that I've seen are attached in this way too. They're not difficult to install I've taken my Matter cage out to paint it and put it back in on my own. It's a bit fiddly and an extra pair of hands would be useful but not essential. Equally taking out the Heigo cage is just like unbolting a Meccano set !
Where have you managed to find a Matter cage ? The only one I've ever seen for sale was with Tom Schmitz and was mega-bucks ......
