Rolling Road Figures

Hi,

I got my 993 Carrera2 put on the RR yesterday:-

Max Power Wheels - 236.5 bhp
Max Power Engine - 275 bhp
Torque - 218 lbft

Whilst the Max Power figures seem very good, the torque appears low?? What do you think?

Cheers

Hi,

Is it a Varioram engine? at what revs is the max torque (is the figure you give at the wheels or a flywheel estimate?

Who's dyno was it on?

Pete

Hi...

No, not varioram, the revs at 5,763 max torque.

The sheet doesn't say for the torque if at wheels or flywheel, only the bhp as I listed. Perhaps this was at the wheels, explains it.

It was ran on Dastek dyno, south queensferry, Scotland

The engineer told me the output was excellent for this car, nice graph for both outputs.

This was my non Varioram print out from WRC at Silverstone - figures extrapolated for flywheel - max Torque of 270 lbft is at 5250 on my car

Mine was

Tmax = 267.5 lbft at 5330 rpm (Vel = 140.1mph)

Pmax= 295.2bhp at 6070rpm (Vel = 159.4mph)

These figures after a trip to Wayne at Chipswizard..

Does anyone know how they figure out the power at the engine?

I would have thought the only accurate figure would be that at the wheels, as you would need to know the specific losses of the cars drive-train to work back????

all the best

Im on a 94 plate pre-V also, I let Wayne Wizard my Chip and he came up with the following:

Tmax = 271.7 lbft @ 5200 rpm V = 133.3 mph
Pmax = 300.5 bhp @ 5990 rpm V = 153.8 mph

There was a few other things listed such as

Peng = 294.9 bhp @ 6310 rpm V = 161.9 mph

I assume Peng is at the engine but no idea where the T/Pmax relates to. Very pleased with the result though as the car runs a whole lot better especially in start/stop traffic.

Cheers

Mike

My c2 NV 1995 100,000MILE RUN;

BHP Wheels= 236.9

Max ENGINE torque=243.9 lb ft.

Me thinks a trip to chip wizard is on order.
