roof damage

It's happened again and i only have myself to blame! I have a storage area above my garage like a loft. A very heavy suitcase fell onto the roof last week leaving a big dent towards the front of the roof. (James if your reading it's the same place the branch hit)
Anyway the car is in for repair including a front end respray to sort out the usual stone chips, the only thing in my mind that lets the car down. I've found an experienced body repairer in Bradford who certainly sounds as though they know our cars inside and out, the full bill will be £800 plus VAT £200 more than another non Porsche garage quoted! so they better be good. I pick the car up tomorrow afternoon so i'll report on the work.

I've cleared the garage out now, so no more accidents, I hope!

Cheers Chris

Hi Chris,

I have my carrera 3 restored at APM autos, on the Killinghall road in Bradford, and they also did some work on the front wing of my SC. They were not the most cheapest, but by far the best work for an average price. I choose them for the work I could inspect as well as the recommendations I received from other forum members and porsche drivers.

Did your car go there as well? It is constantly full of Porsches/Astons/Jags...and little white rental vans- the rental place next door must have a weekly crash or so![:D]

Kind regards,

Bert

Bert yep APM autos it is, the 2 lads seem to know what their doing, and nice lads as well. They were working for someone and then set up APM just over a year ago, i admire someone who gives running a business a go! Charlie at Strasse gave them a glowing report.

I needed the front end painting so it gave me an excuse to get it sorted, they quoted £200 for the roof only which i didn't think was bad. I run a transport company Chilled/Frozen and they gave me a quote for a rear door repair, a bit expensive for a white van repair but i'm happy to pay a fair price for the Porsche to be put right.

I'll report on the result, I pick the car up later today.

Cheers Chris

Ahhh the mudmeister! Yes, Paul does the painting and Andy does the metal work. They are getting their teeth into the older porsches as well now, and all credit to them.

Hope it works out allright!

Kind regards,

Bert

Well the extra £200 was well worth it, to me anyway. A great job and the car now looks spot on. One of the things i enjoy about owning a Porsche is dealing with like minded enthusiasts and Paul and Andy certainly fit the bill.

So if you need any paint/repair and your based in the north i wouldn't hesitate in giving them a try.

Cheers Chris
