Hi all,
I need to fit a roof rack, I need advise on what can be used and where to purchase from please.
Can the gutter clamp type be used, I looked in Halfords but none where listed for the 944.
Thanks all.

You can buy an original 944/968 roof rack / bars. I have one with ski attachments though I don't ski. (And the bars lives in the attic for the day I need to fit it....). They usually fetch around £175-£250 in my experience.

Generic roof bars can be used, but the original Roof Transportation System is better. Easily recognised by its extended rear feet which are secured by the double cap headed bolts on either side of the top of the tailgate aperture. Yes, that's what they are for! [:D]

This will explain why Kevin once said to me I have no idea why Porsche use them (the bolts that is).

Their own rack is rated at 75kgs and a normal roof rack at only 50kgs. Handy but it doesn't justify the price to me, which is approaching double what they used to be, despite there only being half as many cars now!

This is mine with a Porsche set on, I managed to get these for a bargain price of ebay :)

Those reds don't match! [;)]

I always found that if you put the canoes on upside-down it made the car much more stable at speed, and improved the MPG. I think it's because the rocker would then force the car down, as opposed to up (which happened with them the right way up.)

Oli.

I know so close yet so far with the colour :(
Ye when I drive long journey with then I will flip the the other way up and use a deck cover. This was when I first got them so was just eying up the width of it with the two boats :)
