Roof scuffs

A while ago i noticed a couple of scuffs on my 987 Boxster roof. About an inch long and between the back edge of the side window and the back corner of the roof. and about 3 inches from the bottom edge of the roof They are identical on each side and look as if something is rubbing against the roof as it goes up and down. Car in Porsche Centre at the moment and they tell me Porsche say this is usual (How predictable). It wasn't on my 986 and i don't notice it on other cars. Anyone else seen or had this issue?

Cheers.

I have what sounds like the same marks on the "C-pillar" of the soft top. Both sides are affected. When I bought the car (it was just over 2 years old at the time) the dealership have several second hand Boxsters in stock and all but the very newest one showed some signs of this. I asked if the roof could be replaced as part of the prep for sale. They agreed to ask Porsche but surprise surprise Porsche did not approve the request. 2 years later and the marks are a little worse but not much so I think it would be several years before it becomes a real problem.

Conclusion - another design weakness I'm afraid.

Same on our previous 987 2005,It seems to be rubbing when down, but it didn't happen on the two previous 986's
just another annoying little optional extra

I have them on mine, complained about it after the first year, but noone interested. Not much worse now after 4.5 years

My 2004MY 986 shows this wear too but with regular (annual) cleaning and re-proofing it doesn't seem to have deteriorated further. Have you ever had the roof re-proofed?
