One of my members has 987 where the roof stops closing 2" too early. Microswitch/s has been replaced, any ideas?

Roof won't close

Geoff,
Since the hood appears to be operating, it sounds as though the problem could lie with the hood mechanism itself.

Thanks for that, I have passed it on to the owner and Indy involved
I have been encountering a similar problem - albeit sporadically, I think the issue/fault may lie with the locking handle. When my hood stops short (opening not a problem at all) I close the manual handle then open it again fully - try the button/switch again and it usually works. I wonder if this is a manufacturing fault - would be surprised given the experience Porsche have with convertibles, but does happen.
Hope that helps.

Hi Geoff, Did he find the solution? would be interested and the roof opening and closing is still unreliable - however pressing the little switch in the locking mechanism seems to trigger it to close.
I think the fault might be in that little switch - it must take a beating with the manual handle being opened and closed against it.

I haven't seen him recently but assume it's fixed, will report back when I know.
