RET has been costing me quite a bit in storage fees so I dug out my foldaway garage and went and it fetched it back from the storage company this morning. Gave me a chance to have a closer look at some of its.......foibles!

Feast your eyes on this!

On the plus side (I think!) I did find these rattling around in the centre air vents! Can anyone identify them just from the stickers?

Wow, now thats a project, looking forward to following progress. As an all round car lover, I don't know what possesses people to allow their cars to decay to that state. Good to see she's being saved!

^^^^ I will echo what Paul has said, who would let a classic 944 Turbo get in to that state, good to know it will be saved, a 220 as well brilliant cars, sorry I cannot identify the chipset, if you are not sure of their history I would not be fitting them.
Good luck with the project.

The really sad part is it was really well cared for for many years. I got a lot of history with the car and there are receipts for £000's through the 90's and the 00's. It's also sporting a PCGB sticker in the back window.
Anyone know any of the previous owners:
Grant Wardrop ?
Andy Miller ?
Mr A. Davey ?
Richard Gunston ?
They all had reasonable stints of ownership and seemed to have kept well up to date on maintenance.

My white Lux Had only 5 previous owners and full service history and was as rotten as that. It also sported a PCGB sticker. Maybe the stickers have corrosive properties.

It is a shame to see cars looking like that but,& I speak from current experience here, when your using your car all year round in all weathers, what can you do to stop the rust? my wings are not dissimilar to those above and as we've discussed previously elsewhere, the sill trims collect all the crap and the inevitable happens...maybe the previous owner was like me, needing the car every day with kids to ferry round etc and can't afford to be without a car for a week or two...I am hoping to get mine sorted some time this year though, but finding someone to do it properly at the right price isn't easy though.....

PM me the reg and I'll look it up.

Give me a week or so: moving this weekend so may well have fooked the computer between now and Sunday.

Well I find the opposite to be true, use it daily, maintain it well and it will take care of itself, leave it standing for long periods and it will rust, leave it unused for longer periods and it will get as shown in the pictures above. Used regularly the car gets chance to dry out, left standing damp builds up and does it's dirty deed.

Not with a dehumidified garage it doesn't ;)

Arrnworx sell new injector wiring clips or Lindsey do a replacement injector loom.

Mine is an everyday driver and being out in the sticks, I do get a lot of mud build up. Found this to be useful though

http://www.amazon.co.uk/K%C3%A4rcher-Extra-Angled-Spray-Lance/dp/B0007XD5IO
even if I don't get time to wash it every time, I can give it a quick blast with this and it gets right under the cill trims and rear arches. Also have a plan to use a old front wheelarch liner to make access panels behind the from wheels, I was horrified to see the mud built up on the inside bottom of my replacement wings!
If anyone knows who makes discreet mud flaps or custom made ones I'd love to hear about it.
Cheers

Cheers guys, you guilt tripped me into washing the car at lunchtime! No need to chamoix it off though, the wind gave it a good blow dry. I think it's just my wings that are crusty as I Dynaxd the sills 2 years ago & left the trim off ever since, so not as bad as monkeys hopefully.
