Need some help if possible with an engine cut out problem I have. Just recently driving in to work after a couple of mins 3-4 ish, i will pull away from junction or roundabout change into second and all power will disapear. If I take my foot off the accelerator then try again it will be fine. However, yesterday into and home from work and again this morning same thing ie 3-4mins into journey pull away change into second and now the engine completely cuts out. If I leave for a few minutes it starts again and then seem to have no problem with the rest of the 15min journey.
Has anybody any ideas.
The car has just had a full service and had a rave review from the service centre as to how good a car it is, so really puzzled by what is happening.
Thanks in anticipation for any help.

DME relay perhaps? Certainly the cheapest and easiest thing to try first.
Definately electrical I'd say, I had something similar a few years ago but can't for the life of me remember what caused it (I do know we replaced leads, dizzy cap and so on around that time).
I hope it's something cheap and simple.
Best regards,
Peter

Could be a faulty AFM or a leak in one of the hoses between the AFM and the intake manifold? Worth checking for cracks, leaks and holes first (because its cheap) also take the air filter out and spray a bit of wd40 or similar around the barn door sensor then wipe the area clean with a cloth. Could just be sticking on a dirt build up?

I think it's your DME Relay when mine did it was exactly the same after about the same amount of time too and strangly enough on roundabouts too and would take a few minutes before it would restart again.

Just had the relay from Porsche Nottingham. Must say great service, next day delivery. Will see on the way home if problem solved or not.
