As usual we will meet at Specialist Cars Malton from 10 a.m. onwards for coffee etc. departing around 11 a.m. Please print off the route below

MALTON

Turn right into Malton to traffic lights, follow signs for Pickering A169 straight ahead.

PICKERING

Turn left at roundabout A170 to traffic lights, take right hand lane to turn right to North Yorkshire Moors Railway station, continue past trout farms, over railway line to Newton upon Rawcliffe. Continue through village to Stape junction, turn left signposted Cropton - stop at viewpoint.

CROPTON

Turn right down hill towards Rosedale Abbey, at bottom of hill, take left turn to Lastingham, through village to Hutton le Hole.

HUTTON LE HOLE

At junction, turn right towards Castleton, stop at The Lion Inn, Blakey, for a rest break and meet members coming from the North East region. Turn left from car park towards Castleton, take right hand turn to Rosedale Abbey (5 miles)

ROSEDALE ABBEY

Take left turn at the Milburn Arms to Egton Bridge. At the top of the moor, bear left to Glaisdale/Lealholm (6 miles) to straight over junction to Lealholm (1 mile)

LEALHOLM VILLAGE

Over bridge (River Esk) up hill (car park and toilets on right) to junction with A171 (Whitby-Guisborough) take right turn to Whitby (9 miles)

Carry on through two roundabouts to traffic lights in Whitby, bear left to Town Centre, right at roundabout bottom of hill, over pedestrian crossing, then right at roundabout following signs for car parks - Endeavour Wharf car park is on your left hand side after the Information Centre and harbour buildings through the metal gates. SAT NAV POSTCODE YO21 1YN

Car park charges I understand are £3 for 2 hrs, £4.50 for 4 hrs and £5 for 6 hrs so have change!

Hello John,
Can you clarify if we have spaces reserved for our group or is it just pot luck finding a space amongst all the other vehicles in the car park on the day?

Pot luck!!!!!!! Impossible !

I organise reserved spaces with the Council giving exact numbers next week - area usually roped off for us by attendant.

Thanks Rita, that's a relief, I am fussy where I park any of my cars let alone the new one.
