RS-24 Gas For Aircon

My machines aircon is in considerable need of a recharge. Have held out up to now as it has never been retrofitted away from using the old R12 gas to a new, legal these days, gas.

The cost of retrofitting has always made me baulk but I came across a ncar aircon specialist who says there is now a gas, RS-24 which is a direct replacement for the old R12 without the need of any retrofitting (cost around £95).

Has anyone else come across this and if so was it as claimed ?

I am using this gas in my system with no need for changing any seals etc and it works a treat.

My aircon is icey cold, lovely [:D]

Me too - I get mine done every two years by www.airconone.co.uk for about £60 and he's mobile so comes to you (though probably not to Suffolk)

Don't believe any aircon guy who says you HAVE to convert your system costing many 100s of pounds, there are now legal compatible gases out there that dont ruin your original seals
