RS clutch and flywheel assembly

Seeing as the 964 boys appear to have no idea can anyone here help please.

Hi guys, I believe I am correct in saying that the GT3 mk1 clubsport uses the same clutch and flywheel assembly as the 964 RS.

What set up does the std mk1 GT3 use ? am I right that it uses the same flywheel but with a normal as opposed to single plate clutch ?

Regards

Out of interest why the request?

Having hated the stalling tedium of the LWF in my 964 RS I love the standard clutch in the 993 RS.

Given the fairly modest power of 993/964 whether RS or otherwise and the fact I have never had any clutch issues seems that a std clutch plate and material is also well up to the job?

I think you may have confused things with your question. You are talking about single plate clutch. All these cars you are talking about use a large single plate clutch.

I assume you're referring to the difference between single mass and dual mass flywheel? I think you're right that the GT3 clubsport uses single mass flywheel and the GT3 comfort uses dual mass flywheel.

Correct .. 996GT3 Clubsport exactly same as 964RS ... 996GT3 Comfort is a dual Mass ... Paul why do you want one in your 993RS recreation?

GT3 Mk1 CS was single mass, non CS was dual mass.

Both GT3MkII's --- CS and non-CS had dual mass flywheels.

The GT3RS was single mass, but to me this always felt as if it had far more inertia than the 964RS single mass flywheel. Whether the part numbers are the same, I would not know ..

Thanks guys, sorry for confusion, yes talking single or dual mass flywheels.

Have to be honest and say I dont know what a single or dual mass flywheel is other than I have read its the first thing you throw away.

Reasons behind the questions are that I have what I think is a std (comfort) GT3 clutch and flywheel assembly that I am hoping will bolt onto the 993, I thought it was a lot lighter than the dual mass on the 993, but to me it looks the same as any other flywheel I have seen on a car so unsure of this dual mass thing.

Any thoughts ?

If it costs me nothing other than time, a lighter flywheel on the car would make it spin up quicker as it is a little slow on pick up to what I am used too, I kind of like the rattle rattle you get with the RS as well.
