They are in Standish which is near me, Bolton. That is 2 Silver 993RS's within 10 miles!

Seems none too bad value for RHD at the moment.

Didn't get the Quicksilver exhaust guff though!

Douglas Valley come across as right t*ts when you speak to them too.

Just my experience of course.

Doesn't describe extent of damage, who repaired etc etc.............you would need a LOT more info

Astonishing attitude in their advert, they imply they are doing you a favour by saving you £15k.
I have never had any dealings with Douglas Valley, but purely on the basis of that ad they have basically warned me off, for ever!

I'm guessing that this is a return visit to Ebay for this car, as back in September 2005 there was a damaged RHD silver 993 RS listed on Ebay with a couple of photos showing a rather mangled car with the small RS wing package. If I remember rightly it was discussed either here or on Pistonheads and the chap had dropped it on the way down to Le Mans in the rain. Unfortunately the link below to the 2005 listing doesn't work.

(If my mind was full of something useful rather than trivia like this imagine how far I could have gone in life.....)

I have to say I'd be prepared to buy an accident damaged/repaired car.
In years to come that car will still be a genuine RHD 993 RS and maybe a previous repair might not be regarded with so much sensitivity by the market.
However, you'd want full and open disclosure, you'd want reassuring that the repairs were executed properly and you'd want to know the extent of the rebuilding.
None of that currently seems forthcoming from the seller. But hey, you'd just have to talk to them and I'm sure they'd be open and inviting. You could probably even get the price down a lot...[;)]

Now read the ad; does seem a little cocky.

Certainly their reputation with people I know is of being like their ad reads. They do however seem sucessful!

Still you are buying the car not its owner and at least you know it has had a crash! I presume is is listed as a CAT [x] hence them revealing?

I think long term as long as it has been done right it won't be a disaster for value, again look at 2.7RS.

I also do think that accident damage is given a little too much credence. It is the current condition that counts surely? Cars are a collection of parts in the first place?

A 928 when new could have an almighty impact and not get written off but when 15 years old a light tap will get it on the register just down to the basic economics. Certainly a good bodyshop should be able to rebuild a car to factory or higher standards.

My real thought is buy a good lhd one and save some cash!

new off-side rear quarter by any chance?
still a bonny car, but as with any crashed car you've got to buy with your brain not your heart. It was made out of bits in the first place so it can be re-made... no problem, if done perfectly.
As for Douglass Valley, I've had a few dealings with them and never ended up buying from them. I once enquired about the price for a set of wheels they had on an early recreation they were breaking. The reply was, "What, the black and white ones?"
They were Paul Stephens Fuchs style custom wheels!
Still, anyone can have an off day.
