Hi,

I've read a lot about depreciation and current values of 964 RS's, what was the original list price when they were first produced, and what cost options were available?

Pete

Autocar tested 964RS in 1992 at 64,544 pounds, 15,000 more than the stock C2
According to Autocar, Leather was an extra 346 pounds Air Con 2180 pounds Radio and Metallic were NCO. They planned to sell 100 in the uk!
Jeff

Thanks a lot

So still some way for prices to climb before they reach their original price [:)]

I wonder what the equivalent to 64,544 pounds is in todays money - 996 GT2?

How many did they sell in the end?

There were very few options for the lightweight other options were:

Full Matter Cage
MOO3 Package (Clubsport)No carpet, full cage, passenger visor and glovebox deleted
Colour matching wheels
Colour Matching seatbacks
Rear boot insignia deletion n/c
Glovebox deletion
That was about it................

PRICES WILL ROCKET......................[;)]

also...get these
RSR style headlamp protectors in body colour (well I actually think they look nice)

Brand new Clubsport up for 100,000 EURO if I had the spare would certainly bid on it........they just don't make them like this anymore.....

Not anymore it doesn't - he's closed the loophole on works of art/cars/residential property going into SIPPs in his pre-budget speech last week.....[8D]

Des - you have been trotting this out for as many years as I have seen your posts.

Are you in any way related to the Des Sturdee that bought his car back from the previous owner for the same as he sold it ?

Is this evidence of the prices "Rocketing" ?

I think we should be told.

[;)][;)]

Only kidding...just couldn't help it

At least its clear evidence that they are holding their value at a time that most Porsches aren't! Maybe he just got lucky[;)]

No, no, don't back off ! While you're on, you can both explain why cars that lost small amounts of weight by deleting rust protection can claim to be a good investment in salty old England .... [;)][:D][:)]
Almost all of the most valuable and collectable cars don't have rust protection. Obviously another clear indicator of value[;)]

So if I remove all my rust protection, my cars value will rocket?

Excellent, now wheres my chisel and hot air gun [:D]

OK, so I will rephrase - most valuable and collectable cars were/are built without rust protection! In fact, all cars have rust protection and its called paint. However, some "lesser" cars have been built with extra layers of heavy material just in case their owners winge[:D]

Interesting thread. I know of one 2.7RS owner who has had his 2nd "ground up" chassis rebuild due to the fact that the original was not galvanized. Some price for exclusivity ?

BTW - as seen on this forum, a 964RS for £24K. Clearly, the prices are ROCKETING [;)] (from the £65K original list price)

LOL
