Been talking to the Porsche Owners Club of Germany recently. I wondered how many 964RS they have on the owners register.

I was a little surprised at the answer...

OK, so I'm thinking that as it is germany, we would expect the fatherland to have quite a few, as there were circa 2000 made, they should have several hundreds on the register. However, that wouldnt suprise you, so I'm guessing the number is low, as all the RSs have migrated out of Germany.

so ......

42! (the answer to the universe

Am I close?

True Melv, there are several big Clubs including PCA of Germany! In fact most countries have many many Porsche related Clubs, Porsche Club Great Britain enjoyed total exclusivity until the birth of the Internet, now we also have here in the UK, many younger Porsche Clubs, and Forum related Groups.

The number is 12 - but the membership has 'stagnated' - the register isn't really active and needs an injection of new energy.

I know that there are several national and regional clubs in Germany but across the board the enthusiasm around the 964RS doesn't seem to be on the same level as here in the UK. The Porsche Club Deutschland forum doesn't even have model specific sections unless you drive a Boxster. [&o]

Seems us UK crowd must be a bunch of sad geeks with too much time on our hands. Long may it last... [;)]

All 12 on Tomas Shmitez website ... maybe there should be a Pan-European 964RS Register called ....
