Beautiful car for the money.

But if one is looking for a standard car, the £60k spent at 9M doesn't count for much.

At that price with dealer backup if the car is as described I dont think it will hang around for long.....

You're talking yourself into it Kevin - the wallet's twitching! [:D]

Stealers always baffle me. If I'd offered £10k less than the asking price a week ago I'm sure I'd have been shown the door. []

Special buyer is required to inherit all the mods - which were someone elses choice. Somewhat limits the appeal for me. It's worth the money for the low mileage and the colour but would cost money to reverse some of the cosmetic changes particularly. Would be awesome as a visually standard RSL with the engine mods though! [:D]

Apart from the engine, and the exhaust, what other mods are there? I do agree, I think the car looks great, but the extent of the mods devalue the car for me. I think the money in RSs will favour originality over time.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it has had a colour change. From memory the car was originally black - but don't quote me on it! [;)]

Have been told the same!!! [&:]

Can't comment on the colour change but as long as the car does'nt have a significant premium I would have thought they would make the car more desirable. It's clearly in the "track use" rather than garage queen bracket . Most of the mods can easily be removed to leave a more standard engine if desired anyway. Depends what you are buying it for i suppose.

Can't see what the fuss is about....

.....do you mean the fuss over the standard/non standard debate or do you think that the car is nothing too special ie nothing to "fuss" about?[8|]

I know this car very very well. It's fantastic. It was Adrian Palmers car for many many years. You all will have read his articles in the Porsche Club magazine as he was RS register secretary for many years. His articles were re-published in the 15 year anniversary book that was out the other year.

Apart from the bolt in heigo ally cage, black wheels and blue calipers the car is visually standard is it not?

Mechanically this car is fantastic. Adrain was a nutter. He replaced many parts just because of the cars age rather than because they had actually worn out or anything. All dampers replaced for new, lower wishbones, etc, etc. The engine has had a silly amount of time spent on it. Crank cases all polished in side for better performance. Crank knife edged, heads ports all sorted, etc, etc.

Yes the car has had a colour change. One of the reasons the car is an L reg is because it was very late registered and was one of the last sat around waiting to be sold. In 1994 a customer contacted Porsche for a NEW Maritime Blue RS, but there were none left. They found him a car still in the show room at a dealer in Italy, but it was Black. The customer bought the car and when he got the opportunity he had a Porsche Specialist in Germany to strip the car and repaint it. Obviously it was all done properly. I would not let this put you off. I know at least 2 people who have colour changed their Carrera GT's.

I'm not connected to JZ in any way and in fact originally wanted to sell this car for the owner, but it went to JZ. Personally I think this is a great buy.

Adrian's car is a cracker -I have never ever heard anything like it -it positively crackles, almost to the point of pain!! -but forget track days without a major exhaust revision....[:D]

Personally I think that the car is awesome (the Maritime one). I love that front splitter...it's just an RS made better! Maritme & Black wheels...fantastic! Pity it's not a clubsport?

Ex Keef. Ex Jack (I don't think he tracked it). John of SCoM did the decals and highlights. [8|]
