RS Spyder Wheel

stevered

i've got the black single nut RS Spyder wheels. can someone tell me whats the best product to use to clean them? Have been using Auto Glym wheel cleaner, but not sure if this is right. Thanks

I use Valet PRO Bilberry Wheel Cleaner which was recommended by Sportscar Protection at a detailing day held at Cornbury or Auto Finesse Iron Out is also good but perhaps more expensive

I use mild soap and water and a quick polish up using Meguiars Speed Detailer.

For the inner surfaces I use an engine degreaser to remove road tar and brake dust, agitated with a soft brush where necessary, then hose off and dry with a soft towel.

Regards,

Clive.

I have the same wheels and find them virtually impossible to keep spotless, unlike Clive I've not got PCCB,s.
I try to just use soap and water and occasionally cleaner , at the moment I am using Porsche wheel cleaner from my OPC which is expensive but I don't use that much and if it caused a problem with the finish I would go and knocking their door.
If you have time it is worth polishing with Rim Wax or similar after cleaning-
I do find cleaning the inside ie behind the spokes frustrating because as soon as I go for a drive to dry the discs you get grey wash off over the area again.
They do look great when polished up though.

Hi - I've a buddy who uses Meguiars Hot Rims Brake Dust Barrier on His Murceilago wheels as they're black, and show up just about everything.
One can will do 2 car sets worth of wheels and the results are ace, with minimal brake dust sticking to the rim (he's got standard brakes, not ceramics) and they're also far easier to clean too.
The key is to get the wheels as clean AND DRY as possible before applying for the best results - it works fine on any wheel finish, but seems very popular with owners of black rims.

Hi, while you're on the subject of wheels, I've got a platinum satin finish on my wheels any recommendations as to what would be the best protection to use on them as I do not want them to look all glossy?
