having some bilsteins fitted to my m030 shocks next week.

can anyone send me a spec sheet for the rs geometry toe out in etc

also will this revised alignment work with the height of the M030 shocks?

Cheers

the car has the m030 springs on it already (factory fitted) - which i believe to be the same set up as the turbo?

going to bilstein sports (HD's are the US name - actually sold here by bilstein uk as sports).

dont want rs ride heights want to stop with the m030 height.

all i was really interested was the differnces in camber and toe in and out setting as the corner weights will have to be Carrera 2 and ride heights as per m030.

may just go for c2 setting for now to see what direct effect the billies have

I remember talking to JZM about putting the HD's on with the factory Springs (I have a C2S so M030) and they advised against it. They told me it was better to put a full purpose kit of new springs and shocks on all round as they have seen cars coming back with problems after fitting just new shocks and the Owners having to pay up for the full kit in the end after paying for the first set of shocks.

No. The turbo springs are harder.

If you have M030 springs on the car I see no reason to change these unless they are worn out. I have heard of dampers wearing out but never springs. M030 springs go well with Bilstein HDs.

cheers for the info/advice maurice

yes indeed i am experimenting - my last car lancia delta evo was played with quite a bit with some really good results handing wise (renowned to understeer alot standard - playing predominantly with rear toe in and increasing front camber made it miles better) however with much worse tyre wear.

in regards to anti roll bar - yes leaving it standard from my experence best to play with ARB last

kinematic toe - yes will be checking it when set up

agree with your comment re experts selling techniques....

but I understand the standard version may not even allow RoW M030/M033 (certainly not RS) without modification. This is why Gert sells the extra thread version I mentioned.

Maurice is correct about this, Bilstein HD will sit higher than M030/M033 height, to achieve the M030/M033 and RS height you need Bilsteins HDs with the extra thread.

yes i have read that too - 10mm apparently higher, which to be honest doesnt really bother me - if anything would prefer a slight lift for clearance purposes. in reality 10mm wont even be noticed visually or handling wise on the road IMO

Hi Porkapig,

I'm no expert, but if you are going for the RS setup, with your car sitting 30mm higher( once the new shocks are fitted) than a RS would that not make the characteristics of your car very different from an RS ? , Experts in this field please chime in.

had a chat to 9m - they are going to do the work next week - rs settings negative camber and rear toe in is tame apparently (this is the particular info i was really after) - they are going to sit down with me to discuss alternatives for my particular driving style.

will share my info once i get it back
