RS with back seats?

Is there such a thing?
I might consider trading up from my 3.2 Carrera if there was.

It would have to have rear three point seat belts for the kiddies. I bet the replies are going to suggest a regular C2 [8|]

I have heard of a couple of 993RS with rear seats if that is your cup of tea.

No......

Not even the 964RS Touring had rear seats......

However it is not beyond the wit of man to implant a pair of seats in the back with different front seats that recline forward for access.......speak to Southbound, details in PP. The car is registered and type approved as a two seater so watch the legalities. There is one factory car that was built for a Porsche Director with rear seats in Guards Red, Drivers seat standard bucket Recaro, passenger seat Recliner 959 Comfort and C2 rear seats. This was a one off, it can be done but really defeats the nature of the car.

First buy a 964RS use it promise the wife that you will do the above..................She will then hate the ride and go off the idea, Hey Presto you now own an appreciating asset!

Thanks Harry. Thanks Des.
What are the chances of seeing the Porsche directors car come up for sale?

I would just like to say what a nice friendly bunch of chaps the 964 RS lot are. A much more positive and perhaps understanding response than the one I got from the GT3 mob when I posted the same question. They said buy a C2 or 4S. Miss the point or what...

Brian, you need to remember that you shouldn't have rear seats with buckets for safety reasons - rear passengers cannot get the seat forward in the event of a crash. I am not the nannying type but some MoT stations etc may pull you up on it and I wouldn't want the worst to happen to some kiddies in the back.

Of course, you could have standard sofa seats in, and keep the buckets in storage, but then some of the RS appeal goes. Maybe those more bewinged folding seats they put in the 993TT?

I came to the inescapable conclusion of a Merc for rear seat duties and the RS when you could get away with two seats only.

Also remember that the weight of one or two passengers in the rear of a 911 adds to the already unhappy weight distribution (although aids traction out of corners, hehe) and spoils power to weight. RSs were designed without that extra weight in the back, so it is possible but not really a recommendation IMO.

I will ask him at next Region meeting. Nice guy can't see a problem with having a look but can't see him selling, buy the RS anyway and go from there.[;)]
