Hit the rev limiter in 2nd tonight (just as I was changing up). Would hate to think I had damaged my baby? Is it something I should worry about? She has done just 10,000 miles now, and revs highly on most trips (when thoroughly warmed up of course). Being on the Isle of Man, I have the advantage of driving on some unrestricted public roads.

Changing up .. NO .. No damage at all, engine management system would have handled it all .. They need a spanking every so often Yours with 10K miles is just getting run in nicely .. so no worries

Change down from 6th to 1st and slam the red line .. different matter as the Engine management system cant protect the engine doing this

Hi Ian,
as far as I know the rev limiter stops any damage, it is only if you change down into a lower gear than required that the rev limiter doesn't work and you can cause damage. Hopefully if someone knows any different to this they will correct me.
