Rubber seals

Greetings from Down Under once again.

Does anyone have a recommended product to keep the various rubber seals on which we rely soft, supple and in good shape? I think Armour-all is a silicone based product, is it good for this application?

I am getting some stickinees from the window seal, and wanted to do all the door and top seals on a regular basis.

BMW make a rubber protection liquid for seals called [size="-1"]Gummi Pflege
search the net for more info

Is this product suitable to reduce rattles / squeeks from rubber seals when the roof is up? ..Or is there a better solution?

Thanks for this. I assume there is no equivalent Porsche product? I have had such a bad experience with BMW I hate to go any where near the dealer

doesn't the manual state that you should only use soapy water on the seals. Mine were very bad and after trying to clean them without success I got one of those silicone lubricant sprays. It didn't help and may have actually made it worse. I complained to the OPC and they replaced all door seals under warranty, no questions asked. I suspect the originals must've been poor quality (less tha a year old) and it was a known problem, as the last thing I expected was new door seals, especially without them batting an eyelid.

I visited my local BMW stockist to pick up some 'gummi pflege'. Unfortunaetly they didn't have any in stock, but were going to order some in for me. After taking my money they have now phoned to say it is no longer stocked by BMW !??? I now have to go back to have my card credited.....................
Has anyone got any other products they could recommend ?

Cheers

Dan

Hi Dan, Not all together true.... I too went into our BMW dealer and as luck should have it he was just putting some on the shelf. He said it had been discontinued but due to popular demand is back again but this time in a can. I paid £3.70 ish for some and had a great time on Sunday going around the car....

The seals are much better now, nice !!!! ( but my car is older 968 [8D])

Can go get the can if you need the number ?

Ian,

If you wouldn't mind letting me have the number I would appreciate it. I'm off to my local BMW garage tomorrow so will ask the question.

Cheers

Dan
