Still very limited driving but sure people want to know"¦.

The PDK gearbox is a work of art, I am in love with it already. In D mode you can cruise effortlessly or blast a little. It does move up to 7th quickly but is so quick to change that it doesn't matter. The sport and sport plus buttons change the style of the gearshift massively. In normal mode and under normal acceleration it changes around 2-3000 revs "" in sport mode this is around 5000 rpm and in sport plus I bottled out whilst the engine is so young!

In manual, the gearstick selector gives a very smooth movement to change, though the direction of travel will take some getting used to. Using the buttons is fine and I have adapted quickly "" I find this easy and so quick it is untrue!

The sports PASM seems great. My previous car was a Cayman with 19" SD's and no PASM. If you see the photos you can really see how the car sits low which just looks great. In normal mode I find the car very comfy, more so than the Cayman, and you can feel it stiffen up if you push on a bit. It is firm in this mode but still comfortable. In sports mode it is not so much the firmness I notice but the balance and leveling of the car "" round a tight bend today it kept the car completely flat. I don't expect the LSD to have been too busy thus far. In speccing I thought this was one of the best value options "" I am not disappointed so far.

PCM is really very good "" Nav cannot find me house but kinda expected that ""Bluetooth phone excellent and am going out to try the ipod in a bit.

I love the painted rear section of centre console "" so glad I was brave enough!

The engine is sublime, I had to overtake a slow moving car today and it was so easy, just a bit of power and you sail past so quickly.

All for now "" long drive this weekend to make my brother jealous so more then.

Looks fabulous, colour great. just how you feel about it being worth about £ 20k less like in a few months kinda worrying

and yes....****er the cost etc etc nothing beats that new porsche feeling you have right now!!!!well nearly nothing[:D][:D][:D]

Stunning pics Darren [8D]

I hope the weekend is dry for you.

I have never really liked red cars - until now. That ruby red just looks so right on your motor!

Darren, thank you for sharing your photos and first thoughts especially about the sport PASM, I'd say the previous sport set up was the major contributary factor in selling my C2S recently. The colour really makes the car stand out in a world of black and grey motors. Dont worry about depreciation, a bit morbid but your a long while dead so enjoy your Porsche.

Thanks for the comments, and be assured I am not worried about the money - I stopped stressing about it years ago. I have and will continue to gain a priceless amount of pleasure from driving Porsche's every day.

I will definitely be up for events with the group this coming year, some of the trips look great.

Great car... Amazing colour. Hope you have much enjoyment & many trouble free miles. Agrre, if we thought of the depreciation we would all drive a 10 year old Lada...

Beautifull!!! and by the time you stop smiling the cost wont mean diddly!!!!!Enjoy your car and keep safe. You now have me thinking did i do the right thing ordering a meteor grey c2s?

Beautiful looking motor indeed Darren, enjoy it...like a lot of comments Im loving the colour, I love the wheels, infact overall it is one of the nicest looking porks Ive seen.

The luxury car market is taking a major hit at the moment. But if you can afford it, do it whilst it is still possible.

Car looks the Dogs Danglies. Suggest you consider Ventureshield or similar before the front gets peppered with stone chips.

Darren, the cars a beauty. I can sense it won't be long before I'm buying you that sandwich and pint [:D]

Looks fab - congrats!

Re the comments on depreaciation..... Look on the bright side of life : in the current market at least we can all say that our 911's is no longer the biggest depreciating asset we own - our house is!!! hehehehehe

Thanks for all the positive comments - everyone loves the colour except my mate at work who has a C4S in midnight blue - I love the fact that it is different and just a little bit in your face.

My god - it is fast!!

It looks gorgeous ! I wish you many happy miles.

And as for the PDK, what a little gem, had the pleasure of being piloted round the new facility at silverstone, and now...I want one, wonder if they can retro fit it to my 996, C4 ?

And bugger the depreciation nothing replaces the smiles it will give you in the miles to come

Congrats Darren...a great looking car...sounds like you're in tune with it already........so after going out to try the ipod..you'll have to think of something else to try out[:D]
Like....I'll just pop out to make sure the wheels are still round!!....enjoy your car...

A really nice car Darren, and as the g/friend said" A classy red not a trashy red". We were down at Silverstone and had a play in the new car, I did change down a few times when I meant to change up so glad to hear you do get used to the PDK switch logic easily enough.

I quite liked the black 997 at Silverstone with the roll frame instead of the seats, more desicions to make....

Bugger the silly sods that always mention depreciation, we would never buy new cars and would all be driving around in ex company Mondeos, wouldn't life be dull then. Mind you we'd be loaded too [:D]
