Rubystone Red Paint

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of building a 964 RS model, and I want to paint it in a colour which, for me anyway, is synonymous with the car - Rubystone Red.

However, I'm having trouble finding a modeller which produces this hue, so I'm going to have to look in to buying the actual stuff.

Does anybody on here know where I can get a spray tin of said colour?

Thanks in advance.

Should be able to get same from OPC, but ensure model (assuming it's plastic) well primed as it may melt the plastic!!

If you visit Martin's new 964RSdatabase there are paint codes for all the colours for the RS.

Rubystone Red = 82N Take the code along to Halfords where they have a paint mixing system and are able to mix either screw-top tins, or aerosol can of colour-matched cellulose paint.

Thanks for that, I'll go along to Halfrauds soon.

Right, so that's the paint sorted. I wonder now: can anybody help with my request for interior pictures of a Rubystone 964 RS? I can find many on the web, but most of them are cropped, cut and tiny and don't show the detail I'm after: I want to know which panels on the seats are which colour (if that makes sense), and if the seat backs are painted exterior colour a la 968 Clubbie.

Thanks!

Again, look at the database ?

I believe it gives the interior colour options with each exterior colour, Rubystone Red was the colour of the Porsche UK demo car.

Or, go look at a Rubystone car ? There are a few around and you'llned to look at far more than the seat colours.

Alternatively, Gmund have a high mileage Rubystone car that they may be willling to do a deal on ?

And that's a real one !

Calling Paul (964RS). He has a very nice example of a Rubystone car. I'm sure he'll oblige with some interior photos if you ask nicely.

Regards
Martin
