Tee hee hee [:D]

It seems to have a very large engine size [&:]

?RUF? 'cos it has a sticker. Or a very 'rough' idea of what he is talking about? 1993 model of course worth 50% more

I couldn't resist asking a question:

Interesting auction, but I'm seeing a pre-'87 LHD american import 944 Turbo with no obvious modification whatsoever except for the steering wheel and sunstrip. Can you elaborate what Ruf have done to the car?

I have a RUF tax disc holder (in the glove box) so obviously mine is RUF modified too,
Tony
1990 RTR

[:D][:D][:D] That makes my S2 turbo modified then (some non Club Sport bits of Fen's turbo went on it).

Cheers,

Jim.

Its a Ruf alright, ruf as a badgers @rse!!!

Whatever he gets for that i want another £10k for mine!!!

Well mine was maintained by RUF back in the mid 90's (several service stamps in the book), maybe I should start wearing white socks when I drive it [:D]

The dashboard finish looks very shiny, what's going on there?

And come on, own up, who sent him the request for a RUF VIN to check with a Pfaffenhausen mechanic friend?! [:D][:D]

To be fair, the advert says 'the car is badged RUF', and that is technically true - there is a RUF badge on the back. But that stuff in the 'Replies' section about 2 VIN numbers seems a trifle suspicious...

And if you think that was a bit iffy, then I reckon this is a bigger woofer

£5k for an '86 2.5 n/a in white(of different shades), dodgey mileage and service history..............who knows !!

It's got a turbo front, a Turbo badge and what looks like a boost gauge on the tacho - methinks it's a very poorly advertised Turbo.

But thats a turbo isn't it? Turbo badge on rear, turbo front (2.5na cars had lux front). However I recently saw a turbo 'prepared' by sussex performance centre for racing and it was a right mess,
Tony

The advert has been amended now and also shows the proper engine size - he's even had some bids.

All your questions have improved his advert and increased his chance of selling it - you guys should get a commission [:)]

It's still a LHD 220 Turbo of pre ABS vintage, regardless of what the log book/registration letter says and with a somewhat sketchy history into the bargain.

It isn't worth anything like the £5k starting bid, maybe £3,000 on eBay, £3,500 in the 'Trader. It would be worth more to break it.

Hmm, 1997 E plater in Graphite grey with parchment cloth. That'll be an '87 E in Titanium with linen cloth to those who know more about 944's than the average houseplant does.

Nice to see they're keeping up their standards writing utter crap. Can't fault them for effort though; two cars you can buy might both be in Horsham but they did go to two separate dealers. Must've taken them about 30 mins to put that article together including travelling time, editing and proofing.

£8K for an 86C in different shades of white, with a slighly buckled alloy (means the suspension must of taken a fairly hefty knock) and 150K on the (2nd) speedo?

Seems a tad much to me! I'd rather have the honest big miler, with one owner, a better (sorry white owners!) colour, and a wad of bills - maybe they got the prices the wrong way round[;)]

I must admit, I've only bought this mag a couple of times, and even my limited knowledge of all things Porsche (i.e I've read a few books!) picks holes in their articles.
