RUF CTR YELLOWBIRD STYLE BUMPERS

Hi everyone
I have always loved the look of the RUF CTR YELLOWBIRD and seeing the feature in the latest GT Purely Porsche mag has just confirmed that. As my bumpers are stone chipped and in need of a respray now would be a good time to maybe try and get hold of front and rear bumpers a la CTR.
Dont think my budget (or the missus) would allow the purchase of the real bumpers so would anyone know how and where i could get hold of bumpers in that style? Dont really want to create a replica, just a look that i like so just would like that style as close as possible.

Cheers

Dave.

I agree, its a great look - I can't help but post a picture of one of my favourite cars. I really don't know where you can buy them in the UK. If you are willing to buy from the US then there are many suppliers who would ship. There is a huge thread on Pelican that covers this conversion entitled "Ultimate Ruf Conversioin thread" : http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94997&highlight=ruf+AND+bumpers

Enjoy.

Cheers Richard

Have read the post on pelican as well and actually got that picture on the side of the fridge.......!!! Just very wary about ordering parts like bumpers from the states not knowing the quality.

Just had a look in the Cargraphic website and they have the exact bumpers i am looking for but not at 995,00 euros each ...! Then wing mirrors at 275,00 euros. Could get very expensive very quickly. bit pricey for me i'm afraid.

I thought the Pelican thread would have given you some idea of the quality?

One thing you could do is call some of the race orientated shops - they must get their fibreglass panels from somewhere. Maybe try the usual suspects like BS Motorsport. Also, Essential Styling do some bumpers (more for Boxsters/996s) and Simon would no doubt have some idea of who can supply in the UK.

I think you will have to accept that all fibreglass parts will need some finishing unfortunately.

Fibregalass is generally a lousy material to work with and it almost always needs a fair bit of work to finish to a high standard, it's prone to crack and distort with heat too. Have you looked here

Give Simon a call at Essential Styling, he owns a 3.2, and specialises in body panels, might be able to help.

let us know how you get on.
