Richard,

I guess theere are a lot of issues which might decide you one way or the other. I can't see from the web site how much Roly is asking for the Ruf so I don't know how level the playing field is - so to speak.

The choice of cab or coupe is pretty straightforward. The Ruf is based on the older SSE cab, the Turbo is a newer design and maybe not quite as rare - but rare nevertheless.

If it were me, I'd go for the Turbo coupe (assuming the price of the Ruf is in the same ball park). The 3.6 Turbo is the better car in my opinion but I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would say the opposite!!

Regards

Dave

I'm with Dave on this one - it would have to be the coupe for me every time, especially if you'll ever want to attend some track days. And for me the classic 911 shape is best in its coupe form.....

i was with richard on saturday when he test drove the ruf

the smile on his face was unreal, your hooked mate.

Suprised no-one has pointed this out but given their choices - is the turbo 2 really a 3.6 as being a 1991 should surely only be the 3.3?

Don't think the 3.6 came out until 1993 - this would have a serious bearing on my decision....

£30k for a rhd 3.6 is a pretty good price

I presume these are the 2 cars on eporsch?

I have to say that the first picture of the RUF looks awesome IMHO[;)]

happen to know both cars... driven the RUF, awesome!!! The other one I think sounds like mine!!!!! Depends what you want. However the Ruf is a Ruf not a Porsche. Actual chassis / registration is RUF.It is also convertible, and with the conversion switch very ,very quick. 965 though very nice too, also 400 bhp ,keeps up with the RUF.

If you want something very different , Ruf... Bit more practical 965. 965 has been serviced every 3k oil etc. Spend 5/6k on anything and everything since last August. However you can't beat a full rebuilt like the RUF at 17k or something!!

Happy hunting both awesome

Just to clarify, have no interest in either car, also to clarify the 965 is indeed a 3.3, but totally awesome. Not going to comment on the money.

'No comment on the money' because as one car is mine.... 965 turbo and would maybe like to buy the RUF myself too... and the forum is about talking cars not money, right!?
