Ruf pedals

[FONT=Arial"]I fitted some Ruf pedals to my car today; see photo attached. I'm really pleased with the results and there is much satisfaction in doing a bit of DIY on my car. The job took about one hour but I was on a go-slow and I'm a solicitor by trade and not too handy with a screwdriver - so if I can do it then you can too.[;)]

The instructions from Ruf are a bit basic. Not quite 'take out of the box and drill and fit them' but almost.

Here's my guide for anyone considering doing this:

1) Remove the rubber from the clutch and brake pedals - it peels off easily enough.

2) Pull the gas pedal back so it pops out of the metal linkage (on a metal ball joint). n.b. don't try to take this pedal off as the new pedal fits over it. [:)]

3) Place a new pedal over one of the existing pedal mounts and use a coloured pen or knife to mark the positions of the screws. Repeat 3x.

4) The scary bit now! - drill holes using a 4mm drill bit. n.b. the brake pedal is metal so needs a little bit of pressure. the clutch and gas pedals are made of plastic so are quite easy to do. Drill carefully through the gas pedal as there's stuff behind the bottom bit.

5) Screw the pedals on. The longest two screws are for the gas pedal which is very easy to do. The other pedals are simple enough but you'll need to use pliers to hold the nuts firm whilst screwing into them and access is a bit restricted.

6) Push the gas pedal down into its mount. n.b. do this last to allow easier access to the clutch and brake pedal as per point 5 above.

7) Check everything is tight and go for a drive![FONT=verdana, geneva"]
