Running costs

This post will probably be a bad omen - but I just have to "share" this. I've just been through my car's file of receipts to see what I've had to do over my 7 years/50k miles of ownership and I'm just amazed how cheap this car has been to run.

Ignoring expected stuff like services/tyres/pads/disks the only compulsory unexpected items have been the rear PU stays and the clutch at a total cost of about £1k !!! (as I say, ignoring the regular known items). I also had the suspension rebuilt by CG and the front end resprayed (both in the last 12 months) - these were not cheap but they were not compulsory either.

And she still puts such a big smile on my face - what incredible value[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

But its the other list that is the worry, isnt it? I would think Im under £1K like you for required items; p/s hose, a/c hose, oil pipe. Items done out of choice £***** (figure deleted for so may reasons)

Agreed! - And I've just remembered those jobs I don't have receipts for, cash jobs, like work on the aircon[:(]

So what is the real cost per year including what you know you have to spend and what you choose to spend???????? Christian..........

From now on, not much, £1K a year I would guess, for the last 3 years about £6K a year. Nothing was really needed to keep the car going, I could have driven along on the old Monroes, kept the dual flywheel set up, kept the standard exhaust, not remapped, not fitted GT2 uprights or Turbo S spoiler...........the list goes on, Im stopping now otherwise I will need to visit my therapist again and thats money I dont like spending!

Surely you mean Rs upright with perhaps Gt2 evo or motorsport steering rack ball joints??? What about the rest of the suspension arm /bushes ??? RS? Christian....

Yes, RS carriers with the last available Motorsport tie rods (most people seem to call this a GT2 kit so I did too). Powerflex bushes on wishbones, I have the H&R anti roll bar kit with new bushes and rose jointed drop links to add next week! The GT2 mod really does help with bump steer on lowered cars, well worth doing
