Running in agreement

"My sales guy told me that the OPC will ask me to sign a running in agreement to keep engine below 4k for 1,500 miles otherwise they will not warrant the car for the RMS... not sure this is fair but am willing to play it their way (anyone been to trading standards??). He also said they can tell how often/when you red line the engine... "

Is there anyway that the Clubs Letter of Cooperation or whatever it is called can help the guy find out if it is true or is the OPC just telling a load of porkies

Presumably, if this is true, the directive must have come from Porsche.

However, I've never heard of a 'running-in' agreement before and I certainly wouldn't sign it. Think of the damage it would do to Porsche's engineering integrity.

Probably should have been. I picked up a new 987S from my OPC today and there was no mention of 'running-in' let alone any agreement.
